Where the book comes from

The Education Pivot grows from a shared body of work in student-centered learning, community relationships, and meaning-centered practice, not from a technology brief.

Big Picture Learning

Elliot Washor co-founded Big Picture Learning and The Met Center in Providence, Rhode Island. For decades, that network has designed schools around advisories, internships, exhibitions, and authentic assessment rooted in each young person’s interests, connecting classrooms to communities so learning happens in and outside school.

B-Unbound

Pam Roy and Elliot Washor co-founded B-Unbound through Big Picture Learning to extend that mission beyond the school day, connecting young people with community-based adults who share their interests and help them build purpose, dignity, and belonging.

Viktor Frankl Institute of America

Pam co-founded the Viktor Frankl Institute of America with Alexander Vesely-Frankl, Viktor Frankl’s grandson, advancing the idea that the search for meaning is essential to mental health and well-being. That philosophy shapes the book’s focus on meaning and mattering alongside AI.
